About Us

Overview

McMaster University has always valued and modelled teamwork and collaboration. The Faculty of Health Sciences was the first in Canada to include programs in medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and midwifery in one integrated faculty. We also welcomed the inaugural class of physician assistant students in September 2008, the first in Ontario.

The Interprofessional Education (IPE) office was developed in May 2007 with the goal of developing, piloting, and evaluating IPE events for a mandatory core curriculum. This evolved to focus on achieving IPE competencies by having students select from a menu of events. Today, PIPER’s role is to facilitate high quality Interprofessional educational opportunities across the faculty.
